St. John Lutheran Church

We are a Christian congregation in Zimmerman, Minnesota known for our welcoming spirit and outreach ministries.  All are welcome here.

Our Mission: “One body in Christ, Growing, Living, and Sharing God’s Love” spotlights our commitment to the Great Commission of making disciples of all nations, and our work to fulfill the new commandment given to the world by Jesus: to love one another [John 13:34].

We are warmly known as the “Green Church.” [because of our green building color, and also because we endeavor to ‘grow’ in our relationship with Jesus and each other every single day].

We are Lutherans guided by the Holy Spirit who believe that God is active in our daily lives.  We are not perfect, and we give thanks to God for the  grace given through Jesus Christ.

Holy Communion is part of every worship service.  We believe that Jesus is truly present in the bread and wine of communion. Because we believe that Jesus is the host, all are welcome to take part in Holy Communion.

We believe that children are not only the future of the church, they are the church today.  Which means, we love having children in worship. Children  are encouraged to participate in worship.  We have children’s bulletins, activity bags, and children’s sermons to engage our youngest members.  Sunday School [Bible learning for children] takes place from 9:10 to 10:15 AM.

Come and worship, enjoy our hospitality, and be encouraged and challenged to grow in your faith and your dedication to living and making a difference in today’s world.

We are part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Minneapolis Area Synod of the ELCA
